About Us

Bal Adhikaar Suraksha Samiti

Bal Adhikaar Suraksha Samiti (BASS) a registered society was established in 2018 as a community group of socially active people like youth, women, retired persons for social transformation. In 2019, BASS began working actively after registration on the issue of child labor and all other child rights issues in Panipat district.

BASS also has extended its activities to the other districts of Haryana as a community involvement group. Currently, BASS keeps in touch with the program in all these districts through the Child Rights Protection Forums (CRPF) group and offers guidance support to them. BASS is gradually shifting its strategy from being a implementing partner to becoming a training and resource center to other NGOs in the states as well as the government through online session regarding RTE implementation and the ‘Stop Child Labour Campaign’, POCSO awareness, child marriage prohibition, trafficking and others.

BASS also helped in rehabilitation of child abuse survivor, stopped many child marriage cases, missing children reunion, stopping child trafficking.

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

OUR MISSION

To shift the strategy from being a implementing partner to becoming a training and resource center to other NGOs

Our Programs

Approach

BASS approach is based on a empowered community group that assure no child works and that all children in the 5-14 years age group must be in school. It follows an ‘area-based approach’ as against a target based approach.

It seeks to address the rights of the entire universe of children- both in school and out of school- in the 5-14 years age group in its area of operation. BASS has been actively involved in elimination of child labor through education and has so far mainstreamed over 1500 children from work and into full time formal education till they complete class 10.

Strategy

Understanding the importance of government schools in every aspect of learning, BASS has also brought over 15 government school, 200 teachers and SMC members together under the banner of Forum for Child Rights. Active involvement in SMC made great changes in government schools in many aspects-enrollment, education quality, beautification of school, less dropout of girl students etc.,

Similarly, some of its strategies notably the bridge course tuition classes which are instruments of change which help in mainstreaming older children, who have been out of the school system for longer periods of time, have been acknowledged and accepted by the Government of India. Awareness Campaign with all child welfare departments are encouraged.

Process

1. Organizing awareness camp on child rights in schools in association with Childline, CWC.

2. Identification of dropout and child labor involved children through survey, after which they are connected with the mainstream of school education.

3. Organizing awareness camps for information related to labor law, government schemes, women's helpline, district legal service authority facilities in factories and work places.

4. Child rights defender certificate  course with the help of independent thought organization to make adolescent girls aware of the rights.

5. To empower the members of Child Rights Protection Committee (CRPC) to know about Child Rights Law Independent Thought (CRLIT) organization to complete certificate course on child rights laws.
