Help building up self-sustaining and self-reliant communities belonging to both rural and urban areas with major thrust on the development of tribal in the region of Jharkhand through initiatives as an integral part of development spectrum with focus on empowerment of deprived and poor.
KSRA with its limited resources responded immediately to combating the COVID-19 pandemic situation. KSRA distributed more than 6000 kits which comprises of dry ration and other essential items. KSRA covered about 114700 community members of Ranchi urban & Kanke block and 45000 community members of Karra & Khunti blocks. Additionally, KSRA engaged more than 1200 community leaders and influencers to mobilize communities and convince people to follow CAB. In addition to this, intensive-care intervention and other health, nutrition and WASH behavioural assistance, along with RCCE were provided and the same is still being continued. This intervention helped in providing comprehensive information to targeted families. This resulted in 32000 people getting vaccinated in KSRA’s intervention area in Ranchi and 4700 people in Karra block of Khunti District. Apart from this, 20,000 sanitizers and 30,000 masks for adults and 1500 masks for children, which we distributed, were provided to us thankfully from “Reliance Foundation” in collaboration with UNCIEF.
With support of APPI, KSRA initiated emergency relief work in the ten Gram Panchayats of Karra Block and reached out to 750 households in the first wave of pandemic and 700 households in the second wave by providing dry ration and Hygiene kits. Also, KSRA has supported the Block administration by providing dry ration and other essential items for quarantine centers of Karra Block. KSRA has made more than 17000 people aware about COVID -19 preventive measures - masking, proper hand washing practice, human body distancing and its importance in Karra Block.
With support from UNICEF, 95 trained community mobilizers were engaged in community activities to promote key Health, Hygiene, COVID Appropriate Behaviour & Vaccine through community meetings, in not only selected intervention areas but also in other adjacent areas of selected 16 wards in Ranchi. KSRA covered around 115,340 community members of Ranchi urban, slum and semi-slum areas and 340800 community members from 6 tribal blocks of Khunti and Ranchi District. With the direct intervention of community mobilization, more than 120,604 people (72,350 first dose and 48,254 second dose) got vaccinated of in Ranchi and more than 78000 people (51,844 first dose and 26,255 second dose) have been vaccinated in rural areas of Khunti and Ranchi district. Also, KSRA facilitated linkage with the government's health and sanitization services resulting in improvement of facilities and awareness among the community. Sanitization services have been improved significantly.
KSRA has intervened in a positive manner to ensure quality of schemes through its training programs, community mobilization and participation activities. Under the flagship program of CFT in MNREGA, KSRA developed an NRM based village development plan for 75 villages under YBA. Around 8,700 families were directly benefited. KSRA also supported 12,815 SC/ST families for getting job cards and ensured at least 75 labor days per year per jobholder. It also worked towards ensuring the quality implementation of schemes and proper utilization of assets created under MNREGA. 20,966 workers were able to open their personal bank accounts with the support of KSRA. A total of 93 families could successfully establish mango orchards in 79 acres of land with intercropping in the plantation areas.
It is the small change that makes the biggest impact.
